About the Journal

The Iranian Journal of Pathology (IJP) is the official peer-reviewed scientific publication of the Iranian Society of Pathology. Established in 2006, IJP provides a forum for the exchange of information on all aspects of pathology, including clinical and anatomical pathology.

Focus and Scope

The journal welcomes original articles, case reports, review articles, and letters to the editor in the following areas:

  • Anatomical Pathology (Histopathology, Cytopathology, Autopsy)

  • Clinical Pathology (Hematology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Microbiology)

  • Molecular Pathology and Genetics

  • Forensic Pathology

  • Laboratory Medicine

The main objective of IJP is to improve the diagnostic quality and scientific knowledge of pathologists and laboratory professionals in Iran and worldwide.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles published in IJP are fully open access: immediately freely available to read, download, and share.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). This allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Each submission is initially screened by the Editor-in-Chief for suitability. Suitable manuscripts are then sent to at least two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper.

The Iranian Journal of Pathology is indexed and visible in major international databases, including:

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archive among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration.
